Your first priority in Crimson Desert is to replace your starting gear with craftable equipment. The Iron Plate Set is the most accessible upgrade — craft all 4 pieces as soon as you have the materials. For weapons, prioritize based on your character.
Rule of thumb: Don't farm bosses for gear until Lv 12+. Before then, crafting and vendor purchases are more efficient. Save your silver for the Engraved Gold Earring and Finely Crafted Gold Necklace from Hernand vendors.
